The Important Stuff
As successful members of the community we have a responsibility to help those that are less fortunate and contribute to the common good. It's been a longstanding practice of mine to donate time and compassion to children of all ages with alternative learning styles. I give my time, volunteering with schools and organizations that are able to use my skills to help others less fortunate. I recognize there are so many Autistic children that need a pair of helping hands - especially a pair of helping hands that are regularly available. Schools of children tour through our company and see each department, learning about the printing process, computer files, proofing and plate making. Students see large presses running, starting out with a sheet of totally blank paper and coming through the other end with the printed image. In 2011 we had a few students come back to the shop and work hands on. I enjoy the intangible benefit of giving. Giving back to the children gives me a pleasant feeling of connectedness and the satisfaction of at least trying to make the world a better place.
